Dirty Tricks and bugs: The computer fighters don't know you're attacking them if you don't have them targeted, so it is easy to destroy them if you turn off your targeting computer. That way you can easily blow them away with unlocked missiles or lasers. Enemy capital ship guns don't know if they are shooting at their allies. So, you can pull their fire over to your other enemies, dodge the fire, and have them blow away their own allies, including containers etc.
