This may only work for version 4, as no other versions have been tested. To disable "man lost":

To disable loss of health when shot:

copy comic.exe cheater.cht

Now just run the appropriate .EXE file (COMIC.EXE-no cheats, COMIC2.EXE-man lost cheat, and COMIC3.EXE for the disable health loss cheat.)
